Gran Canaria

Is known as ‘the small continent’ due to its diverse landscapes and climates in such a small space.  It is a lively island, with stunning beaches, historic artefacts, volcanic landscape and a varied nightlife.  Gran Canaria is steeped in history, Las Palmas, the capital, was founded in 1478, not too much later, Colombus arrived at the port of Las Palmas on his first passage to America. EL HIERRO

The most western of all the canary islands is a hidden little gem, with only 10,000 inhabitants, it is a very peaceful little paradise.  The island has ever changing terrain from rugged coastal cliffs to juniper forests.   Restinga is a popular village with it’s own port, where we can berth for the evening.  This pretty little fishing village is popular for SCUBA diving and snorkelling, as well as the obvious, fishing. It’s fish and seafood restaurants serve up some of the freshest produce in traditional canarian style.Of an evening you can savour the local wines at the Bodega Los Lomos, or one of the Islands wine tasting tours at sunset.Hiking can be enjoyed at any level due to the hundreds of routes there are around the island, including some of the islands most beautiful viewpoints. Tenerife

La gomera

La Gomera is the second smallest Canary Island, from the coast, you will notice that La Gomera has a lot of small beaches dotted at the foot of large cliffs formed by volcanic erruptions over the years.These giant cliffs and gorges make for some spectacular walking or hiking trips with some incredible scenery and views. Also, due to the rough terrain and problems travelling one place to the next, the Gomerons made their own language that could be heard and identified from one side to another, a whistling language, still practiced and taught today in schools.Further inland on this little island is a protected forrest where indiginous pines grow, covered in moss and ferns, it is often quite cool in the shelter of their branches.

Lanzarote Island

Lanzarote was the first place in the world to receive a Biosphere Responsible Tourism award in 2015 due to it’s stunning volcanic landscapes that have been preserved by the locals over the years.  The eruptions that formed these incredible landscapes happened in the 18th and 19th century and have attracted tourism from all over the world.The lava has produced incredible formations, caves, lava lakes and craters with beautiful golden sand beaches nestled in between.  There are many famous beaches in Lanzarote due to the clear crystal Atlantic water filled with sea life.When visiting Lanzarote, you can expect to find a little bit of everything, from lively tourist hotspots, luxury hotels, camel riding, boat trips, heritage sites and even little peaceful spots where you can camp out for the day and simply enjoy the peace and quiet.
